Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between compounded and brand-name GLP-1s?

Brand-name drugs like Ozempic® and Wegovy® are FDA-approved and made by Novo Nordisk. Compounded versions use the same active ingredient (semaglutide) but are prepared by compounding pharmacies. Compounded medications are NOT FDA-approved โ€” they haven't been reviewed for safety, effectiveness, or quality. They're legal when there's a documented shortage (which exists for GLP-1s) or individual patient need.

Why would I want a provider that also offers TRT?

Research shows GLP-1s can normalize testosterone in 77% of obese men. But if yours doesn't improve, having TRT available through the same provider makes the transition seamless. Plus, unlike TRT, GLP-1s preserve fertility โ€” so it may be the better first option if you're planning to have kids.

Are these providers legitimate?

All providers listed work with licensed physicians and state-licensed compounding pharmacies. However, we recommend checking that any provider you use works with a pharmacy that has LegitScript certification or PCAB accreditation. We note these certifications when available.
